In recent years, it has been confirmed that counterfeit and fraudulent Manduka products (※1) are being distributed in Japan. To ensure that you are purchasing genuine Manduka products, please be careful when shopping online and always purchase from the official website or an authorized retailer.

By purchasing products from the above authorized retailers, you can avoid the following risks:

• Counterfeit or non-genuine products are of poor quality and cannot be used.
• Purchasing a non-genuine product voids the warranty
• Possibility of not receiving your product
• Risk of receiving a product different from what was ordered
• Unauthorized use of credit card information
• Victimization of identity theft and other fraud

Be careful not to buy from counterfeit sellers

Currently, several online shops/Amazon accounts in Japan have been confirmed as selling counterfeit Manduka products (※2).
It is highly likely that these stores are selling counterfeit Manduka goods, or obtaining products that Manduka would not normally sell (defective or outdated products) through illegal channels (including illegal means such as theft and robbery), bringing them into Japan without making proper import or tax declarations in order to lower prices, and then selling them on online shopping malls (Amazon, Rakuten, Yahoo, etc.) as genuine Manduka parallel imports.
Manduka has taken every possible measure against such companies/stores through its lawyers in Japan, including identifying the sources of the products bearing the Manduka trademark that they are selling and requesting injunctions to stop their sales, but in many cases they do not respond in good faith.

The features of these stores are as follows:

• The price is incredibly cheap (20% cheaper than the Japanese list price)
• The product page does not use the original Manduka logo.
• They may use Manduka images without permission, but they post poorly taken images.
• The product page is amateurish and the page design is not sophisticated.
• It features old season colors that are already out of production.
• Products are often out of stock

What to do

If you believe you have purchased a counterfeit or unauthorized Manduka product or have come across such a store, please take the following steps immediately:

• Request a refund from the store
• If you paid by credit card, contact your card company to inquire about the fraudulent charge.
