If you've seen Manduca's latest towel collection, you've probably noticed that it's different from the towels we've released before.
Towel prints designed by textile designer and watercolorist Heidi Lister Hevesy are paintings made just for us.
Its depth and complexity are incredible, perfectly reflecting the ``spirit of budding flowers'' that we convey in our spring/summer collections.
Heidi has a long association with yoga.
I would like to tell you a little more about her story.
Growing up in a small village in the English countryside, Heidi loved drawing from an early age.
Encouraged by a teacher who saw a penchant for patterns in her work, Heidi studied textile design in college and then moved to New York to work in a textile design studio.
It was in New York that Heidi discovered yoga and her other passion, rock climbing.
She aims to use the strength and breathing techniques she learned through yoga to reach new heights.
Art, yoga, and climbing all continue to flourish in her life.
For Heidi, yoga and rock climbing seamlessly intersect and the two are complementary.
Both require our complete presence, but rock climbing comes with a rush of adrenaline and a certain amount of stress.
Yoga brings us into a quieter, more peaceful space, even during potentially demanding movements.
These are beautiful, harmonious opposites, and she says many of the climbers she knows are avid yoga practitioners.
Both are places where we can become more whole with ourselves.
Her designs this season are full of life and mystery, and it's no surprise that she walks in both realms.
When Heidi begins her work, she walks in nature for color inspiration.
Her love for the natural world inspired this work.
What we thought was so cool was that she just started drawing.
I don't know what's going to happen and I trust it when I say it's going to be a mess and there's paint everywhere.
Overthinking won't work, so go for the intuitive method.
Like yoga, she accepts that one stroke leads to the next without prescribing where one stroke ends.
We loved this intentional embrace of imperfection.
Her experiences, often by chance, can manifest into something beautiful.
Working with our team, she narrowed down the color and pattern choices and the collection was born.
We feel so lucky to be able to bring you Heidi's art this season.
How wonderful that each of these Yogitos towels was born as a one-of-a-kind painting.
Heidi created such beauty and detail in all of them.
See which one speaks to you.
And maybe her art will help you further understand the presence, joy, and blossoming of your practice.
