Comfortable meditation using props
Meditation is the seventh stage of the eight limbs in the Yoga Sutras.
It is said that the first step to meditation is to "correct your posture." Make sure your spine is in the correct position. It is ideal to be able to sit comfortably in a position to align your body and meditate, but if this is difficult, we recommend using props.
Here are some props that are helpful for meditation.
A prop that can be placed under the sitting bones to create height and make it easier to stand the pelvis.
Meditation Cushion
This yoga cushion stabilizes the position of your pelvis for a more comfortable sitting experience.
Cotton Blanket
When spread out it makes a comfortable yoga rug, and when folded it makes it taller so it's easier to press on your sitting bones.
Recycled wool blanket
Fold it thickly and place it under your sitting bones.
It is also recommended to spread it out on top of a mat for added warmth.
You can also use it to put on when you get cold while sitting.
Recycled Foam Blocks
Place it under your sitting bones to create height. We recommend the second height.
Enlighten Yoga Bolster (Rectangular)
A hoodie that helps regulate your temperature even when sitting for long periods of time during meditation
Half Moon Hoodie for Women
Made from premium brushed fleece, this oversized hoodie is super soft to the touch and provides excellent warmth.
Half Moon Hoodie for Men
It can be easily slipped on over a T-shirt and can be used before, during and after meditation.
Preparation for meditation begins with sitting upright
Use a hoodie to adjust the temperature so you don't get too cold, and use props to align your pelvis and lift your spine to stabilize your sitting posture.
Once you have adjusted your sitting posture, regulate your breathing. Then, set an object to focus on. If your mind starts to wander, do not try to control it, just observe the movement of your mind and return to the object you set.
Try enjoying a comfortable meditation.
